Safety information

Brain injury

Engaging in cycling, skating, snow sports or similar without a helmet is a major cause of brain injury in Australia. The Westmead Childrens Hospital states that the most common causes of brain injury in Australia are:

• Motor vehicle and bike accidents

• Falls

• Sporting injuries

A brain injury can mean anything from a skull fracture to bruising of the brain, trauma, paralysis, coma or death.

Ride safe

Helmet wearing is the law. Be firm in your own family and among friends about wearing helmets and enjoying outdoor sports safely. Make it fun to wear a helmet.

Children should not ride in bike seats or trailers until they can support themselves and the weight of a helmet.

Teach your children about bike, board, water and helmet safety as soon as possible.

Product safety for Montague, SwissBike & Paratrooper Bikes

1. Always check and double check all of the CLIX quick release levers on each bike before starting a ride. Be vigilant after you have unfolded the bike.

2. Frequent / daily riders should have bikes tuned every 60-90 days.

3. The patented F.I.T.™ system developed by Montague engineers uses a system that does not cut any tubes in half or compromise rigidity and strength of the frame. The patented Concentrus™ system is a tube within a tube design that strengthens the frame by incorporating technology found on some high performance, dual suspension mountain bikes. This is featured on Montague, SwissBike and The Paratrooper. Do not make modifications to your Montague frame.
